WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29, 2015 - MACHU PICCHU & CUSCO

This, our second day at Machu Picchu, began early for some to take an opportunity to independently visit Machu Picchu for a second time.  And, for the more adventouous to test their limits with a climb to Huayna Picchu, the sharp peak which towers above the citadel.  That wasn't for us.  We spent our time in the Aguas Calientes area.

The Urubamba River as it runs through the entire valley.

Here you can barely see our walking sticks.
No doubt, Tommy has his walking stick in hand.
This is the El MaPi Hotel where we stayed.

At about 2:30 p.m. we boarded the train for the journey back to Otlanta station, then continued to Cusco by motor coach.  Upon arrival we checked into the Sonesta Cusco for the next two nights.  With dinner at a restaurant very near the hotel we were soon back in our room for the night.
