(EASTER) SUNDAY, APRIL 20, 2014 - SCHILTHORN MOUNTAIN, LUNCH AT PIZ GLORIA'S 360 DEGREES REVOLVING RESTAURANT

On the following day, Easter Sunday, the weather was absolutely perfect, both at the chalet and (we found when we arrived) on top of Schilthorn Mountain where our whole group had a table reserved to meet for lunch.  Joy had "mapped out" the train route for everyone, no matter where they were staying and we all assembled together at Murren BLM for the ride up to the submit of Schilthorn mountain (9,744 feet).  The restaurant, Piz Gloria's 360 degrees revolving restaurant, was a perfect place for lunch.

These first pictures were all taken through the train window.  (Note the black dot at the top right of the 2nd picture.  It's part of the window.)

In Murren we had to walk across town to the cable car that would take us to the top of Schilthorn.

These views were all taken from the cable car.

The mountain views continue...

Can you see the small "dot" on the summit of this mountain?

As we get nearer you can see it's the revolving restaurant.

And, finally a portion of the rail on the viewing platform.

And the mountains visible from Schilthorn.

What a beautiful setting for a picture! Us and the whole group of Bravehearts.

Schilthorn Restaurant.  The lunch was very delicious and not too overpriced for the location.  Since we had pre-ordered via our reservation our table was reserved and the meal was very comfortably served.  Thanks, Joy!

Taking off in fresh snow.

It seems that one can only eat so much and see so many wonderful views before returning to the world below.
There, in the valley, a car that has very little space for any more bumper stickers.

And a van from a company offering paragliding.

Note the recently used equipment being readied to be taken back up the mountain for another adventuresome person.

Can you see these para-gliders floating in the sky?  You may see others in a few days.

We hiked 1.25 miles through the Lauterbrunnen valley where the scenery was not to be missed.

There were a few farms.

With many cow bells

Lauterbrunnen
And coming down the mountain that I later learned was called "The Wall" there were waterfalls.

More bells, this time on a house.

A large barn with cattle inside.
And, a recreational vehicle park

with a wonderful view.

The cemetery had flowers planted on each grave.
A hotel (with porches!) in Lauterbrunnen.

We arrived in Lauterbrunnen and located the train station and boarded the next train that would take us back to this lovely chalet in Brienz.
