TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2012 - BILBAO, SPAIN - Our plans for our second day in Bilbao involved a tour for the six of us (Bill & Marie Herrmann, Paul & Carol Melton, and Sylvia & Jim) with a representative of a famous group of Bilbao 'promoters' named "Bilbao Greeters". Carol had located a link to contact this group and had begun corresponding with them in August. The tour was scheduled for just the six of us (request was made that we add no more to our group). Outside the famous Guggenheim Museum, near the "Flower Dog", we met our guide, a native woman who had lived for a period of time in the USA.
Our guide inquired of the things that we would be interested in seeing and once the requests were finished, we moved directly to some of them, the markets. En route to the first market we passed a few very beautiful buildings.
The stained glass was located inside this market.
Outside the market the buildings were varied from traditional churches to new modern office structures.
And, narrow passageways...
This is trite.
And finally, a bakery!
But it also sold lamb...
It was Marie's birthday, so she got a big cookie.
Our guide...
with the welcoming butler in front of this lovely restaurant where we stopped for refreshment.
We continued onward.
Then, Cathedral de Santiago (the way of St. James)
Our very enjoyable tour with the Bilbao Greeters guide ended when she assisted us in getting on the subway that would take us to the area where our ship was docked.
And there it is...Celebrity Constellation.
